CUPRA Tavascan, the brand’s first all-electric SUV and its second fully electric model after the CUPRA Born. Will arrive in Australia this year – almost four months earlier than expected.
Benefitting from an advanced homologation timeline and closer proximity to its production base. Tavascan will be delivered to Australian customers from early December, in-line with European delivery dates.
At launch, the Tavascan will be available in 250kW “VZ” dual-motor all-wheel drive, and 210kW “Endurance” RWD configurations.
CUPRA Australia director, Ben Wilks, said the Tavascan SUV is a milestone on the brand’s battery electrification journey, which commenced with the Born hatchback in 2023.
“The Tavascan takes CUPRA’s BEV offer into the SUV segment with a vehicle that’s designed to be dramatic and emotional from the ground up,” said Mr. Wilks.
“With:
- its progressive and emotional approach to the SUV coupe segment,
- head-turning exterior lighting,
- a uniquely-CUPRA interior, and
- an all-new immersive sound system from Sennheiser,
- the Tavascan elevates the all-electric SUV coupe to new heights.
Boasting impressive performance figures and dynamic driving experience, it’s every bit as great behind the wheel as it is to look at.”
Designed and developed in Barcelona. The CUPRA Tavascan is produced at the Volkswagen Group’s Anhui factory in China. A state-of-the-art innovation hub for e-mobility.
Mr. Wilks said the CUPRA Tavascan embodies CUPRA’s global aspirations, while delivering to Australian market expectations.
“Australia is benefitting from CUPRA’s global growth by becoming one of the first markets in the world to receive the Tavascan. We encourage clients to get ahead of the curve and register their interest now.”
