e-tron S Sportback – Audi e-tron is a luxury all electric SUV that showcase the performance aspects of the range. I drove the S Sportback model, which is typically Audi stylish and luxurious. It looks low and squat and with 21 inch alloys, LED matrix lighting and sport adaptive air suspension.
Inside again its typically Audi with particularly comfortable heated leather seats, panoramic sunroof and mood lighting.
Connectivity and functionality controls are catered for by the 10.1-inch touch/haptic screen for infotainment and 8.6-inch touch/haptic screen for vehicle functions. And of course the now familiar virtual cockpit for drivers instruments.
Audi e-tron is powered by two electric motors at the rear axle and one the front axle, boasting an output of 370 kW of power and 973 Nm of torque at full boost performance when activated in S-mode. This gives a 0-100kmh time of 4.5 seconds.
Range is estimated at around 415km, however when we picked up the car at full charge it showed 321km range. That’s a bit on the low side.
Audi e-tron S Sportback is priced from $175,400 plus the usual costs

Quick e-tron S Sportback thoughts
- Audi e-tron is a beautiful design
- Inside its typically Audi, luxurious, functional, and practical
- The central screen set up with the dual screens and haptic touch is amongst the best on class
- Driving the e-tron is so smooth and quiet.
- Its quick, handles like a sports SUV and incredibly responsive
- The Sportback design is also practical when you want to move larger objects as we discovered.
- I only have two major issues with the e-tron,
- first is price. It’s very expensive
- second is the range. Mid to high 300kms just isn’t good enough, especially for the price.
- I love Audi’s but for the price I would buy a SQ8 everyday of the week.
