Hyundai IONIQ Fully Electric Sedan 2021 Radio Review

Hyundai IONIQ EV

Hyundai IONIQ gives buyers a choice between a fully electric, PHEV and a Hybrid versions. Since the initial launch in 2016 there have been over 60,000 IONIQs sold.

Its well-known I’m not the biggest fan of electric cars and yet somehow I found myself driving a fully electric IONIQ this week and actually enjoyed it, but don’t tell anyone.

The latest IONIQ features advanced connectivity services, SmartSense™ active safety and driving assistance systems and state-of-the-art infotainment features.

So to the fully electric version. It now has an upgraded battery of 38.3 kWh, meaning drivers can go a total of just under 300kms of range on one charge. Using a 100kw fast charger it will reach 80% charge in about 54 minutes.

Its e-motor delivers a maximum power of 100kW and 295Nm of torque.

Inside it’s packed with comfort, safety and luxury features. However some such as air conditioned seats are sure to decrease the efficiency and range.

Around town it was smooth and obviously quiet to drive, comfortable and we lasted all week on the one charge.

IONIQ almost makes me like electric cars, almost, but I still say that the most fun is scaring people in car parks when they can’t hear the car as it moves.

At around $53,000 plus the usual costs for the premium version its expensive, yet cheap for an electric car.
